Trump appreciates Pelosi's 'statement against impeachment'

Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the US House of Representatives and the top Democrat, has sad she does not favour impeaching President Donald Trump, as has been threatened by many of her colleagues, because it would be "divisive" for the country and, most notably, "he's just not worth it".

"I'm going to bring it the floor of the House again", Green said Tuesday morning on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal".

Nancy Pelosi then explained why she is against it by saying, "Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don't think we should go down that path, because it divides the country". Kayleigh McEnany, national press secretary for the Trump campaign, said in a statement.

I'm not for impeachment.

"After Pelosi's comments, Republicans countered, asking why Democrats would have issued 81 document requests to people associated with President Trump if they're not already planning on impeachment".

"I think the more candidates the better", he said. The Democrats were the undeserving beneficiaries of this popular hostility to the Iraq war, which they had largely supported.

No ha sido difícil para mí. "Todo fue muy intenso, interesante, pero me ambienté bien, estoy feliz", prosiguió. Pero no echo de menos el país en sí, porque tengo lo mismo aquí.

In Lotter's opinion Pelosi is taking this stance on impeachment because she "knows the results of polling".

"No. No. I don't think he is", she said.

Pelosi, 78, touched on that in her Post interview.

For two full years, Democrats pinned their hopes on the report of the special counsel finding evidence of collusion with Russian Federation to initiate action against Mr. Trump.

The Democrats want Donald Trump to be impeached as soon as possible. She said that the president is "just not worth it". Is this good news for President Trump?

Many Democrats have been planning to move impeachment proceedings, but seniors in the party have been more circumspect about it. Or does the change of heart come from a recognition that without control of the Senate, impeachment proceedings would go nowhere? Instead of legislation, the Democrats are enacting bills that they hope will have popular appeal in the 2020 elections, such as campaign finance reform, protecting voter rights, placing limits on the purchase of assault weapons and expanding healthcare coverage.

What we are witnessing here is the early stages of a public relations battle to convince a solid majority of Americans that Trump ought to be impeached, assuming the investigations yield real evidence in support of impeachment. "We are not governing with a focus on impeachment".

"Nancy Pelosi is smart to say there shouldn't be an impeachment, because there's no grounds to do it", McCarthy said.

Public hearings-such as the recent session held with former Trump fixer Michael Cohen before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee-will convince the American public that Trump needs to be removed, Steyer said. "We need to concentrate on what we're fighting for".

"We don't have the facts yet, but we're going to initiate proper investigations", he said.
