During the Grammys, Disney unveiled its first trailer for director Guy Ritchie's live-action "Aladdin" - and viewers were less than thrilled to see Will Smith's CGI iteration of the genie.

Fans can also look forward to Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Marwen Kenzari as the villainous Jafar and Naomi Scott as the attractive Princess Jasmine.

"Y'all need to trust me more often", Smith added.

Ariana Grande to Grammys producer: "'You're lying about me"
The ceremony will come two days after Ariana Grande released her latest album - Thank U, Next - which came out on Friday. Newsbeat has contacted the organisers of the Grammys for comment.

The first pictures of the cast were released late past year but it didn't feature Smith in his blue garb, leading many to wondering if this Genie was going to be multicoloured.

"LEMME OUT! Can't wait for y'all to see Me BLUE!" exclaimed the actor under his Instagram post of a magic lamp sat on a deep purple background. Smith's Blue Man Group cosplay had many fans scratching their heads, and they promptly took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Will Smith's role as a blue genie isn't winning everyone over and you already know that the Internet had something to say about it. "I think this is the first Disney trailer I've ever disliked".

Of course Smith was quick to point out that what was revealed was just a momentary scene in which the Genie is disguising himself as human.
