The summit marked the Saudi Crown Prince's first major global diplomatic test since the murder of Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, on October 2.

"Leaders should not just offer warm words against human rights atrocities but back up their words with action", he said, citing Germany and Norway as countries who have stopped selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, when Britain has not. "President Putin and the Crown Prince held a rather fruitful and substantive discussion on the sidelines of the summit".

The Saudi crown prince is due to meet top Algerian officials to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the oil market as well as a couple of worldwide issues, according to a statement from the Algerian Presidency Office.

The Saudi leader appeared to have no such awkwardness with Russian President Vladimir Putin, however.

Throughout the exchange, the Crown Prince assures Mr Macron that he can handle the situation and he "can deal with it".

The trip marked the highest-profile overseas junket for the crown prince since Khashoggi's murder. For this reason, political leaders must remain cautious in addressing him and ensure that he does not believe that there are to be no worldwide political repercussions for the murder.

In another tweet, the ministry hailed MBS has been the "youngest leader in the G20 summit of a leading economic power".

Saudi authorities have vehemently denied the crown prince was involved in the murder, although Riyadh has admitted he was killed at the Istanbul consulate.

The Senate vote came after a closed-door briefing by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis. After initially saying he had left the consulate alive, Saudi Arabia admitted weeks later that he was killed there.

In nearly daily exchanges between October 2017 and August 2018, Khashoggi and Abdulaziz conceived plans to form an electronic army to engage young Saudis back home and debunk state propaganda on social media, leveraging Khashoggi's establishment profile and the 27-year-old Abdulaziz's 340,000-strong Twitter following.

Other leaders, including Argentine President and summit host Mauricio Macri, made even less effort to hide their priorities when it comes to the Saudis. This includes putting pressure on the Saudi government to collaborate, and holding them accountable for their involvement.

How other world leaders would interact with the Saudi prince has proven a hot topic.
