Schumer can be seen in a video in which a Capitol Police officer tells protesters they will be arrested unless they leave the building.

"Do you want to be arrested?" the officer asked.

On Thursday afternoon, Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski were among the protesters who were detained while demonstrating the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Schumer has always been politically active, often in concert with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, who is her cousin.

The suspects have been named as Tyress Williams and Jshawne Daniels, both 19, and Damaji Hall, 18. In the past two years, there has been a rash of home burglaries in the Los Angeles area.

Ratajkowski shared an image of herself at the protest on Instagram, saying she had been arrested protesting Kavanaugh's nomination.

As we're writing this, there are protests against the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, who's accused of sexual assault.

Protesters chanted and held signs that said "We believe Christine Ford", the woman who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

In the video Amy says: "I'm here with your mom".

The scenes were unprecedented for any supreme court nominee in recent history; demonstrators gathered outside the courthouse in Washington where Kavanaugh now sits as a federal judge and walked in unison to the supreme court, where he wishes to serve.
