A parked auto was destroyed when the aircraft went down outside a busy shopping center, but the vehicle was unoccupied at the time, the AP reported.

All of the passengers on the plane were employees of Pacific Union International, a real estate company out of Danville, California. There was no fire and nobody on the ground was hurt.

A small plane crashed near the parking lot of a mall in the U.S. state of California, killing all five people on board, the authorities said. All of the wreckage appeared to be contained within the parking lot and video broadcast by NBC news showed the aircraft plunging straight into the lot.
